Birth & Postpartum Doula

About me

Hi, I'm Lindsey! I'm newer to the doula community working towards certification. I made the transition to doula care from being a nurse. I practiced in reproductive health, family medicine, and pediatric care. I have spent the last few years absorbing everything I can get my hands on related to birth and go about my day listening to my favorite podcasts- all of them about birth maybe a few conspiracy shows too. I take a fairly natural approach to my life and my personal health but I understand that that is not an easy or sustainable choice for everyone. I completed my doula training with DONA International, as well as child birth and lactation education. I seize every opportunity I have to attend classes to further my education in all health related fields. In the summer I spend my free time kayaking or gardening and in the colder months I hand stitch quilts! I look forward to getting to know you, your family, and understanding your values surrounding your pregnancy and birth so that I can be a strong asset and advocate for you- I want your birth experience to be everything you may hope, pray, and dream of!

Service introduction

I would like to meet you as early into your pregnancy as possible- preferably no later than 36 weeks- and have a chance to get to know you and your partner. Is this your first birth, what are your past experiences with birth, what are your expectations this time around, etc, and answer any questions you may have or connect you with resources. This also gives you a chance to get to know me! You can decide from there if you would like me on your team. If so, we can meet again to discuss more in depth your birth plan, location, at what point in your labor I will accompany you, and other specifics. Once I am at your side I'm there to stay, you will have my undivided support and attention throughout labor & delivery, and I will stick around after your birth for a while to help you in any other ways I can. After your birth expect a nourishing home cooked meal within your first few days, and I'll follow up with you over the next month into your postpartum recovery.
