About me
Hello there! My name is La-Kiesha Hobbs, and I'm a DONA-trained birth and postpartum doula who specializes in providing compassionate care to expectant families in the Tri-cities of Virginia and Richmond. As a doula, I believe that every woman deserves to have a birth experience that is empowering, transformative, and supportive. I strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for all of my clients, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or past experiences with trauma. As your doula, I will work closely with you to create a personalized birth plan that meets your unique needs and preferences. I will be there to provide continuous physical and emotional support, offer encouragement, and provide you with the information and resources you need to make informed decisions about your care. Together, we will navigate the ups and downs of pregnancy and birth with grace, compassion, and strength. I also provide services as a childbirth educator and photographer. Outside of birth work, I enjoy running, trips to Disney World, and reading a good book.

Service introduction
I am thrilled to offer you a unique and supportive experience during your pregnancy and birth journey. My services are designed to empower and uplift you, ensuring that you feel confident and comfortable throughout your pregnancy and childbirth. I offer packages that range from basic support to extensive labor support that helps you plan along every step of the way and continues support after. My stand-alone postpartum plans range from 20-40 hours of care each week with the option to purchase additional days. Because I know every family is unique, we can discuss customizing care plans to fit your pregnancy and postpartum needs. I also feature a la carte services such as birth photography and a Doula Date Night package that can be purchased alone or added to your custom package. Thank you for considering our services. Awesome & Amazing! I could not have delivered my baby girl and manage the first couple of months without La-Kiesha being by my side. She was encouraging, super hands on and helpful, and was also stern – all at the right times (“stern” has a negative connotation associated with it, but I mean this in the most positive way possible). I was having a really hard time pushing my daughter out and it took La-Kiesha to firmly and lovingly tell me that I can do it. It was that stern talk that helped me get over the hump to pushing her out. It was like she knew exactly what I need when I needed it. I started to work with La-Kiesha less than a couple of months before my due date. I thought this may mean that the support during labor wouldn’t be what I needed and that I wasn’t getting my money’s worth, but man was I wrong. La-Kiesha also helped latch my baby onto the breast once she was born, I was so nervous and experiencing so many emotions. I found my natural labor to be incredibly challenging, and I don’t think I was emotionally prepared for the birth. I truly believe that I would not have gotten through my labored naturally if it weren’t for La-Kiesha's help. La-Kiesha was an invaluable asset to my birthing team, and I will certainly be using helping hands doula for my next babies (whenever that will be).
