In Home Prenatal Consultation
Visit Length: 90 minutes Prenatal consultations are a fantastic way to get feeding off to a good start! Research shows that parents who are educated in infant feeding prior to the birth of their child are far more likely to meet their feeding goals. Prenatal consultations are extremely valuable for all parents! This includes new parents, families who may not have met their feeding goals with previous babies, those that had difficulty conceiving, those whose family members were unable to breastfeed, those with a history of hormonal imbalances (ex: PCOS, gestational diabetes), breast trauma or breast surgery, etc. A prenatal consultation will provide you and one support person with the opportunity to learn about how milk is made, "normal" newborn behavior and feeding patterns as well as tips and tricks to prepare you for feeding your baby once they arrive. There will be time for you to explain your feeding goals and preferences and express any uncertainties you may have. We will discuss ways in which your partner and others can bond with the baby while supporting your feeding preferences. You will also be capable of deciphering when to ask for help if feeding concerns arise once your baby is born. I will provide you with a digital copy of resources within 72 hours or your appointment. Prenatal consultations can be tailored to fit your needs! *A $25 discount will be given to postpartum clients who previously booked a prenatal consult.
