About me

Hello....My name is Kelly Sunshine and I have been a birth doula for over 12 years supporting more than 1150 births in the Phoenix Metro area. I work with clients delivering in any hospital, birth center or home environment. In the hospital setting I work well with health care providers and feel that I walk that fine line between respecting the hospital staff and their regulations and yet still help my mamas have the birth of their dreams. With a little hard work, patience and showing respect we can achieve the birth you desire....while still in a hospital setting! I have wonderful recommendations for both OB providers, midwifes and natural friendly hospitals in the valley. I also work with many of the local home birth midwifes and know that having a doula even in a home birth setting is so valuable. I offer birth doula support that includes photography and a written birth timeline. I also offer placenta encapsulation services.

Basic Doula Package

*One initial meet and greet. *One prenatal appointment sometime within your 35th or 36th week of pregnancy to assess your needs and desires for birth, define and understand our expectations of one another, provide you with useful tools for labor and birth, give useful tools and advice regarding the 4th trimester (postpartum period) and give information regarding ways to get your body ready for labor naturally. *Continuous physical, emotional and information support to your and your partner for the duration of pregnancy, labor and birth that will help you move towards the vision you create for your baby’s birth. Initial breastfeeding support immediately after birth. *One optional postpartum follow-up visit to celebrate the birth of your baby and answer any questions you have during the early postpartum period. *Unlimited phone, text and email support to answer your questions and offer suggestions and support throughout your pregnancy and labor. *High resolution edited photographs of your labor, birth and those moments after your baby has arrived. Your photos will be shared with you through a secure website for you to view and download for your personal use. I will give you full release of the photos as well. ***Remember we are your doula first and your photographer second. We get as many shots as we can but if needed we set the camera down to be the best doula you need in the moment. *Written birth timeline giving you all the details of your birth.

I would give Kelly all the stars in the world, she took me on as a client 2 weeks before my due date even though she was completely booked up. She made my birth experience for my husband and I such a blessing and I would have NEVER been able to go unmedicated without her. Laboring at home and knowing when to go to the hospital, helping with different laboring positions to her helping me apply counter pressure on my back during contractions and telling me I can do this when I wanted to give up were only a few ways she helped me through my labor.
