I've been drawn to birth work my entire life and have found such a profound calling in my work as a doula, supporting families through their own birth journeys. I am passionate about supporting families, encouraging mamas to use their intuition to meet their babies and holding space for this transformative experience. I am certified as a VBAC doula and enjoy watching families fall in love with their own unique birth stories. I support mama's with all sorts of goals for birth, whether that's unmedicated, using pain relief or planned c-sections and I think one of the most important parts of a positive birth is that the mama feels seen and heard and is an active participant in her birth. I have a bachelor's degree in nutrition and have worked in the medical field for 15 years and feel very comfortable communicating and working with medical staff. I absolutely love learning all that I can about birth and helping clients find evidence-based resources to help them navigate pregnancy and birth. At the same time, I respect birth and this beautiful process that is so innate and instinctual, happening on it's own, without intervention.

Upon hiring, I will be available via text, phone or email to listen and help answer all the questions! Through prenatal visits, I want to become part of your team, your tribe. My hope is to form a strong connection with you and your partner, we will become a birth-team unique to you and your goals and desires. I am excited to cheer you on, support your partner and be at your side throughout your birth journey. One of the biggest goals I have for you in your birth is that you and your partner feel confident, heard and celebrated throughout your birth. After your birth, I usually help with those first feedings and that immediate postpartum period and then will leave you tucked in, getting to know your baby and counting all of their perfect toes and fingers. After you've settled in at home, I will pop over to check in on you and your new babe. We can address any questions you have, revisit your birth story and help you process this significant event.
I used Katie for the birth of my first son and my second son. If I were to have a third child, I would use her again. She is knowledgeable, a calming presence and was supportive in the exact ways I needed her to be for both births. I am so happy with how my labor and delivery went each time and I feel like Katie played a huge role in me being able to feel that way. I would recommend katie highly to anyone looking for a doula.
