Pregnancy, birth, and babies...I love it all! I see the birth process as a huge opportunity for growth and healing. This is an opportunity for the birthing person to communicate with their body and find their own intuitive & unique way of birthing. This is not just a mother experience but a parent experience, I love getting the partners involved. I am also a massage therapists and birth photographer. Massage during labor can be so helpful and amazing and I love capturing the sweet moments between a couple and meeting your baby! One of my more recent educational experiences is Cranial Sacral Therapy for Infants. I love working with the babies!

Pregnancy, birth and babies...I love it all! Birth doula, birth photography and massage therapy are my specialties. I have packages that include one or include all of these. I also do postpartum doula services, infant massage education, comfort measures classes, belly binding (BenKung and Faja styles), cranial sacral therapy for infants (this is especially helpful for babies that have lip/tongue ties or a traumatic birth) prenatal yoga and belly dancing (this is great to use during labor). I add a bit of a spirtual side to the birth experience from my various trainings. I am happy to support all types of births but my favorite is home birth.
Let me start by saying that I NEVER leave reviews unless I was really moved by something. Joleen is such an incredible doula, words can't express enough how much support she provided during my birth experience. She actually cares about her clients and the outcome they desire. I highly recommend having a doula who is also a massage therapist-- a damn good one at that-- I had extreme back labor and needed counter pressure every single contraction. She was with me for 9 or 10 hours and never gave up! She had me move into countless different positions to get my baby to move down and out, and I never felt like we ran out of things to try. My husband was skeptical of hiring a doula at first, but was so thankful that we had her help and that it wasn't all on him after it was all said and done. 😉 I attribute my going natural 100% on the team of people I had with me that day; I would have caved and got an epidural if it was just me and the hubby. My midwife was even complimenting her on how much she was doing to help me! Joleen's gentle guidance was everything. I highly recommend her to anyone who is going to give birth, but especially those who want to have a natural birth!! Having that extra support could really make or break your experience. ❤
