About me

Hello! My name is Janet. I have over 15 years experience serving families as a Certified Doula and Childbirth Educator. My journey began with the birth of my son by cesarean and led me to the homebirth VBAC of my daughter. I offer in person and virtual evidence based childbirth preparation classes. Group and private class settings are available. I facilitate an online VBAC Support and Information Group which helps those who are planning a VBAC or want to learn how to avoid a primary cesarean. I’m honored to assist families along their journey of pregnancy, parenthood & beyond. I enjoy yoga, the beach and spending time with family.

As a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator I teach evidence based Birth Preparation Classes following the 6 Healthy Birth Practices of Lamaze. I facilitate an online VBAC Support and Information Group for those who want to achieve a successful VBAC.

4 classes, 2 hours each Fee can be split into 2 payments. Once registered for Classes you can contact me with questions throughout your pregnancy and when you’re in labor. Package includes a postpartum follow up within 3 weeks after delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Can I contact you after classes are over?

Yes! You can contact me with questions throughout your pregnancy and postpartum. We will arrange a postpartum follow up within 3 weeks of your baby’s birth.

I’m scheduling a c-section, I don’t think I need a birth class?

I agree you may not need to take my full series of classes. An option would be an online worship entitled Coping Techniques for Labor. There is a possibility labor can begin before your scheduled date.

When is the best time to start classes?

You can take classes at anytime during your pregnancy. Ideally sometime during your second trimester and make sure the last class is completed by your 35th week.

Do you still attend births as a Doula? Will you attend our birth if we take your classes?

I no longer attend births as a Doula. I’m currently focusing on providing education to support and empower my students to have the birth experience they want. My classes will complement the students that choose to hire a Doula.

I know I want the epidural, do I still need to take classes?

Absolutely yes! Sometimes birth can happen so quickly there isn’t time to place an epidural so you want to be prepared. I will discuss the pros and cons of getting an epidural, what to expect once it’s placed and how the timing of the epidural can affect labor.
