A Mother’s Blessing Ceremony is an intimate ceremony and celebration where the mother-to-be gathers with her closest circle of women (family and friends) to honour and celebrate her rite of passage which is becoming a mother. The intention of a Mother Blessing is to support and prepare the expectant mother for her upcoming birth and role as a mother, physically, mentally and emotionally. It is inspired by the traditions of an ancient Navajo ceremony called a Blessing Way. Traditional baby showers tend to centre around showering the baby with gifts. A Mother Blessing ceremony offers the opportunity to come together in a spiritual setting and share in a sacred time of reflection, support and celebration that is focused on the mother-to-be. It’s all about nurturing and empowering the mother-to-be in a safe environment surrounded by the most important women in her life, a very powerful and healing experience for each of the participants.
