Experienced postpartum doula and certified newborn care specialist From a young age, I loved working with children and felt naturally drawn to caring for babies. My professional journey began in 2015 as an Assistant Montessori teacher in infant and toddler classrooms, where communication, organization, and creating a safe, nurturing environment were essential. I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education, which further grounds my work in child development and evidence-based care. After my Montessori experience, I transitioned into full-time nannying, gaining extensive one-on-one experience with infants and their families. In this role, I supported parents with creating developmentally appropriate schedules, introducing solids, building healthy sleep habits, and navigating the early stages of parenthood with confidence. Today, I am a dual-certified Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula, providing attentive, nurturing overnight support so parents can get the rest they need while knowing their baby is cared for with expertise and care. My support includes newborn feeding and soothing, light household reset, and emotional reassurance, all tailored to each family’s unique rhythms. Hello my name is Nia, I was introduced to the wonderful world of birth work during my sister’s pregnancy. As I was helping the practitioner, she hinted at the fact that she was a Doula. Adding, that I would do well in that field due to my caring nature. After more research, I began seeing the need for this service and fell in love with this industry. In 2019, I became a Dona trained Birth Doula, obtained certifications in: Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), Postpartum Doula(PPD), Basic Life Support(BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), CPR, First Aid and trained in Benkung Belly Binding. I’ve had the pleasure of supporting parents with their newborns days and nights, provided care for families across states, families with multiples, parents with disabilities and supported births in both hospitals and birth centers. I’ve learned to be more understanding, open to new ideas and sensitive in different situations. It’s everything I thought it would be and more. I still find the time to be a supportive wife to my husband, homeschool my son, sing , brush up on my Spanish even play Pickle ball.
