Hi there! I’m a desperate mama whose hospital lactation consultant had to leave on emergency surgery and can’t get in person support until the end of October. I’m looking for supporting getting baby to latch and stay latched. Currently using a nipple shield with little luck and am at my wits end. Baby gets sleepy on the boob in cross cradle! Budget $500 for in person support helping getting my baby to latch. I am a week and three days postpartum with a baby born on 09/19/25.

I plan to give birth at Froedtert main campus in Milwaukee, I am looking for services that I can book through my health insurance (centivo, with medicaid as a secondary). I have an HSA I would like to use after that. I have had 6 vaginal deliveries, 2 were without epidural, 1 was with a doula. I would like to stay as natural as possible with the understanding that there is room for change and intervention if necessary.

I am looking to connect with a lactation consultant before birth and beyond my stay at the hospital due to a couple of implications that I anticipate could possible impact my breastfeeding journey. I plan to give birth at Meriter and will likely be induced due to gestational diabetes. I am on metformin to treat this and my numbers are very well controlled. I have a long family and personal history of struggling with insulin resistance despite being otherwise healthy, and I understand that this is thought to have potential interactions with breastfeeding. I also am concerned about possible mild breast hypoplasia/ IGT, and though I know it is impossible to predict whether or not one will struggle with supply after birth, I would like to be as prepared and well informed as possible on what I might need to be doing in terms of supplementing, pumping, and evaluating whether baby is eating enough postpartum.

Painful latch, latching issues, very painful breasts

I have been trying to exclusively breastfeed. However my left nipple is very sore and hurts to breast feed on. So I started pumping but not sure how often to pump and if I should pump both sides. Also I brought my baby to the doctor and they want me to supplement with formula because she isn’t gaining as much weight as they like. Now I am very confused about all of it. I need some help!! Looking for someone local and covered by insurance (UMR United healthcare).

I’m looking for lactation support through breastfeeding

First time using a doula, would like some extra support and this will be partners first baby. Also have 2 children who will be living with us. Plan to deliver at lake forest hospital, our budget is pretty limited $50-$100. My birth plan is to essentially get through labor and survive.
