Hey there! My name is Emily Vanderoef and I’m a Certified Birth Doula. Whether you got here by accident or on purpose, I’m so glad you have taken time to read this! Hiring a doula is no small thing and I am honored by your consideration! My passion for women's health and birth stems from my personal experiences and observations. Over the years, I have witnessed the beauty and natural process of childbirth. Having first been present for the births of several friends and family members. It was this, that inspired me to deepen my knowledge and skills. This led me to pursue my certification as a doula, so that I could support and guide expecting mothers all over, through this transformative, magical journey. I believe that every woman deserves to have an empowering birth experience, and I am dedicated to providing the compassionate care and assistance to make that a reality. My passion is for helping others on their own unique path to motherhood.

As a dedicated doula, I offer a range of services designed to support families through the transformative journey of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. My Birth Package begins with a free consultation to ensure we’re the right fit, followed by personalized prenatal and postpartum visits to prepare you for birth and support you afterward. From 37 weeks until your baby arrives, I provide 24/7 on-call support, offering reassurance and guidance whenever you need it. During labor and birth, I’m by your side with continuous emotional, physical, and informational support, and I stay with you for 2–5 hours postpartum to help with initial recovery, newborn care, and feeding. As a nourishing treat, you’ll also receive my homemade, nutrient-dense lactation cookies to help support your milk supply in those early days. I also provide Overnight Support from 10 PM to 6 AM to help you get the rest you need. During these hours, I care for your baby by changing diapers, soothing and settling them, supporting feeding (whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or doing a combination), burping, and handling light cleaning tasks so you can sleep more soundly. Additionally, I offer massage therapy services—including prenatal, postpartum, therapeutic, and deep tissue massage—to promote relaxation, relieve tension, and support your body’s healing. Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating new parenthood, or simply in need of rest and recovery, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Emily has been an absolute blessing as our newborn’s night nurse and doula. Her tender, caring and reassuring nature gave us complete peace of mind during this special but exhausting time. Emily is incredibly accommodating, tailoring her care to meet both our baby’s and family’s needs, and her calming presence brought comfort to our entire household. We’ve already recommended her to other families, who’ve shared equally glowing feedback about their experiences with her. Emily truly goes above and beyond, and we’re so grateful for her support!

To whom it may concern, I am writing this note to personally recommend Emily Vanderoef for Doula licensure. As soon as I knew that I was pregnant, I was certain that I wanted Emily Vanderoef to be present at my birth. Emily exudes “comfortable vibes”whenever you are in her presence. She’s confident and kind and passionate about birth and babies. Throughout my pregnancy, Emily was there for me. She sent me a multitude of helpful, motivational, and informative reading material, videos and podcasts so that I didn’t have to wade through all the information by myself. She was always upbeat and encouraging and I felt that I could trust her to advocate and give me sound, balanced answers to all my birthing questions and concerns. Emily really took a hands-on approach in helping me prepare for birthing my twins. She helped me put together my birth plan, gave me several prenatal messages and crocheted beautiful blankets and bunny rabbits for my babies. She helped me to prepare my birthing space and personally coached my husband and I on different positions we could use during labor to reduce pain. She attended my widwife appointments and ultrasounds. She was there when I found out I had to have a C-section instead of a home birth because one baby had stopped growing. She comforted me while I cried and later that evening, she came and helped me and my husband get our home ready for our babies and our hospital bags packed. She came to the hospital and was there while I waited to go into surgery and was there after the babies were delivered. Her presence gave me confidence to face my fear of the unknown and helped me regulate my emotions. I also knew that I had an advocate who understood what I wanted and would support me in my choices. In conclusion, I would recommend Emily Vanderoef to any mom who is looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and capable Doula to support her in her birth experience. Sincerely, Mindy Steele
