Frequently asked questions
Do you accept my insurance?
Resilient Motherhood’s doctors are out of network providers for insurance. This model of care allows us to spend the time you need to reach your goals without visit, time, treatment, or location restrictions from insurance companies. It allows us to see you for an hour at a time, which means you get better and reach your goals FASTER. We often have moms coming to see us after trying in-network providers when they are unable to reach their goals.. We are different and get you results because we can spend the time with you that you need to get to the root cause of your problems, make sure you know you’re doing the exercises the right way, and because we help moms with problems like yours every day.
Our fees are time based and billed by actual face to face examination and treatment time. Clients pay at the time of service and may be reimbursed by their insurance company, based on the insurance company’s fee schedule. Cash, check, credit card, health savings accounts (HSA), and flexible spending accounts (FSA) are accepted.
What do sessions look like?
The first session is when we learn the most about you, what’s going on, and help you get to the root cause of why your symptoms are occurring. We will have a detailed discussion about your symptoms, your goals, and take into account your lifestyle (sleep, stress, exercise,, nutrition), childbirth(s), and symptoms. We will do an evaluation in the first session, which includes assessing how you move, including any movements that provoke your symptoms and movements you do daily or for working out. We will touch many of the muscles to assess how they are working for you. We can touch a few of the pelvic floor muscles from the outside, so we will do that when you are moving so we can learn how they’re functioning when you’re moving. Often, it’s beneficial to do an internal pelvic floor assessment to see how all of the pelvic floor muscles are working, but this is just one piece of the puzzle.
You’ll get started on treatment in the first session and we will dive deep into problem solving in the following treatment sessions. We do a lot of hands on work. Physical touch helps you learn how to relax and activate muscles and is key to helping the brain learn how we want the body to work. If you do a virtual session, you will just be using your own hands instead. Either way, we make sure you can replicate the hands-on treatment at home (either by yourself or with a partner). We also use stretches, muscle activation and relaxation work, nutritional changes, habit changes, and body-mind work to help you reach your goals.
How long will it take to reach my goals?
Of course, this varies from mom to mom and we will give you a better idea of your investment after your evaluation, but we ask our clients to set aside 4 months to focus on themselves and on reaching their goals. Most clients need 8 visits within this time frame. At first, sessions are typically once a week, but then we start to spread them out to every other week as you get more confident.
