Dr. Jacob Moran, DC Dr. Moran was born and raised in Rhode Island. He attended the University of Rhode Island where he received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Pre-Med Kinesiology, and met his wife, Ella. After graduating from URI, Dr. Moran decided to further his education in health care by pursuing a four year Doctorate of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree from the University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic. While at UBSC he was awarded a Clinical Excellence Award, an award recognizing a student doctor who provided exceptional clinical care to patients, expertise, professionalism, and service based on the recommendation of the UBSC faculty clinicians. Dr. Moran strives to provide his patients with safe, gentle, and effective care. When caring for patients, Dr. Moran takes a whole person approach. Rather than treating the symptoms, he gets to the root of the problem to optimize health and well-being. Throughout his studies, Dr. Moran has mastered many manual adjusting techniques to provide his patients with expert care. Some of the manual adjusting techniques Dr. Moran specializes in are as follows: Diversified, Gonstead, Webster Technique, Thompson Drop, Logan Basic Technique, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), Craniosacral Therapy (CST), Activator, Extremity Adjusting, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Myofascial Trigger Point release/therapy, and flexion distraction. Dr. Moran is also one of the youngest doctors in America to be nationally certified in non-surgical spinal decompression and cold laser. This unique certification program has been approved by the International Medical Advisory Board for spinal decompression and is the first decompression program of its kind to be offered in America. Dr. Moran specializes in care for patients suffering from both cervical and lumbar disc herniations, as well as spinal stenosis, neuropathy and degenerative changes to the disc and vertebra. Dr. Moran is also certified in Pulse Electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy and Invisa-Red weight loss/lipo laser red light therapy. Dr. Moran is passionate about pediatric, perinatal, and maternal health. He is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). He is both Webster Technique Certified and Perinatal Certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Dr. Moran is the only Perinatal Certified Chiropractor in all of Rhode Island. Dr. Moran is also a candidate for the Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP), a comprehensive 200-hour post-doctoral education designed to expand professional ability in adjusting techniques, evaluation, and assessment of different stages of development: from pregnancy, birth, and infancy throughout childhood. He has completed the CACCP program in its entirety and will be sitting for the final examination this Winter of 2023. When Dr. Moran isn’t in the office, you can find him mountain biking on the local trails or hiking with his wife, Ella, his husky, his rotterman, and even his bengal cat. They enjoy long hikes, camping trips, and being outdoors as much as possible. Dr. Moran and his wife are expecting their first child in January of 2024!
