I’m Deva and I’m a Queer disabled doula living and working from Glasgow. I wanted to be a doula as I’m passionate about the diversity of needs for fertility and pregnancy and birth support all pregnant people. I know many groups of people can feel misunderstood, unrepresented, pigeon-holed or even completely forgotten about when planning their wants and needs with their fertility, pregnancy and birth. I wanted to create Braw Birth because I believe all pregnant people and families deserve to feel confident and assured of the support they are receiving so they can go on to have a dignified, respectful and empowering experience.

Queer Fertility, Pregnancy and Birth Support. Queer Fertility Doula Support: Accessing fertility support can be an experience of mixed emotions and can also feel quite isolating. Having added support can help you navigate the system, prioritise your preferences in treatment and feel seen, heard and understood in the process. Queer Pregnancy and Birth Doula Support: Provide emotional, physical and informational support for you and your birthing partner (if you choose to have one), throughout your pregnancy and birth. I’m there to solely be there for you throughout the process, to uphold your wants and preferences from your birth plan and any changes you may decide. My role is to provide support free of judgement, projection and criticism. Queer Antenatal Education: Queer-focused courses. Available in group or 1-1 sessions.
