his service package includes: (1) Prenatal visit. Each visit will last 1-2 hrs. During this session, we will talk about and answer any questions about your pregnancy. This discussion will include labor, birth support nutrition, comfort measures, birth plans, 4th trimester preparation, bonding with the family, and birth setting basics. We may also play fun, interactive games. Continuous support during labor and up to 2 hours after delivery. (1) Postpartum visit. Within one week after birth, for 1-2 hrs, your doula will make a postpartum visit to check on you and the baby and help you process your birth experience

Your doula will provide continuous support according to your wishes and will remain with you for as long as the labor takes.

A postpartum doula helps families adjust to life with a newborn. They help ease this transition by providing emotional support, evidence-based information, and an extra set of helping hands.
Services of a Postpartum Doula
A Postpartum Doula works with each family individually to find out their particular needs. Some of the postpartum services that a doula will perform include:
4th Trimester planning during the prenatal period
Breast/bottle feeding support (includes pumping and formula feeding)
Help with the emotional and physical recovery after birth
Assistance with newborn care such as diapering, bathing, feeding, and comforting light meal preparation
Baby soothing techniques
Sibling care techniques
Referrals to local resources such as but not limited to, parenting classes, pediatricians, lactation support, and other parenting support groups
Service Agreement:
This agreement contains the entire understanding between your DOULA and the CLIENT. It supersedes all prior and simultaneous agreements between the parties. The only way to change or add to this agreement is to do so in writing with all the relevant parties signing the provided document.
1. Upon your signature and payment, your DOULA will reserve the time and date agreed upon, and will not make other reservations around your estimated due date. A $300 non-refundable retainer is to be paid at the time of signing the contract.
2. The CLIENT agrees that $300 non-refundable retainer is required at the time of contract acceptance. This retainer applies to your total services purchase for the first week. Remaining balance will be invoiced weekly and due 24hrs after service.
3. Payment may be made in zelle (443-864-2802),cashapp,cash full fee due for the week upfront, or credit card. Your DOULA will furnish a receipt for payment after clearing.
4. Travel time is included in the service fee unless over 30 miles. Location will be agreed upon during booking and if location is further than 30 miles, a travel fee of $0.50/mile will be incurred depending on location. If location changes after the contract is signed and is out of the 30-mile radius, a fee will be charged. CLIENT is responsible for covering additional fees and costs related to location choice (admission fees, parking fees, etc.)
5. No refund is given for services canceled within 30-days of the CLIENT’S due date. Services canceled prior to 30-days will receive a full refund less $300 non-refundable retainer.
6. Our fee structure for postpartum care is as follows:
$25 per hour for day time hours 7am - 4 pm .
$35 per hour by night from the hours of 11 pm - 7 am. Standard Admin fee of 18% will be charged
CLIENT agrees to a minimum of 2 days of postpartum care, with a 4 hour minimum at each visit. *If care is needed outside of these hours, please speak to your DOULA to arrange a specialized plan.
DOULAS ROLE
7. As a postpartum doula, we do not:
- Evaluate mother’s or baby’s medical condition
- Insist new parents care for their baby in any particular style
- Do house cleaning (mopping, cleaning bathtubs, etc.)
- Babysit siblings
8. Physical comfort to the new mother:
- Helps mother to care for her postpartum body
- Encourages mom to eat properly and drink plenty of fluids
Emotional support for the new family:
- Listens to the story of the birth
- Validate the normal adjustment process
- Supports mother through emotional vulnerability
- Supports father through transition to new role
Guidance in infant care:
- Supports mom and partner in their feeding choices
- Gives information on newborn care recommendations
- Aids parents in developing their own styles of nurturing and bonding with the baby
- Solutions to common breastfeeding challenges in the first weeks
- Proper storage of breastmilk and formula
- Pumping information and guidance
WAIVER OF LIABILITY
12. CLIENT acknowledges that DOULA has provided concrete information about the benefits of using a postpartum doula, and has read all included documents.
13. CLIENT does not hold DOULA responsible or liable for any mishaps that are beyond their control (ex: car accident or detainment).Client & doulas agree to disclose any communicable diseases you may have so that appropriate precautions. Client acknowledges PillowTalk of Birth LLC vaccination status & stances and release all liabilities from PillowTalk ofBirth.
14. CLIENT acknowledges they are responsible for their postpartum choices.
15.PillowTalk of Birth can terminate contract at will if feeling unsafe or hostile work environment. If contract is terminated due to above events payment will remain due for the current agreed upon invoice.
16. LIABILITY WAIVER By signing this contract, you agree on behalf of yourself / yourselves, heirs, or representatives to forever release your Doulas , Desiree Butler, Aiesha Williams, and/or Candace McCloud, from any claims of liability or damages.
SIGNATURE I / we hereby affirm that I / we have read, understand, and agree to abide by the terms of this contract in its entirety.
