I am a caring and compassionate lactation consultant that was inspired to enter lactation consulting after my first failed attempt to breastfeed my oldest daughter. After diving into breastfeeding education, I successfully breastfed my youngest son for sixteen months with the help of an amazing lactation consultant (see, even lactation consultants need lactation consultants). In 2020, I completed a Doctorate of Public Health degree where my research focused on breastfeeding success. For the past six years, I have been working in higher education, while volunteering for a breastfeeding organization. In September of 2020, I sat for and passed the IBCLC exam. I am also a certified lactation educator and provide prenatal educational classes. I am originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania and currently reside in Brooklyn, New York with my husband and two children. Patricia Berg is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and a Diplomate Certified CranioSacral therapist. She was the first internationally to hold this designation. She has extensive experience in both filed. Patricia is a long-standing member of her professional organizations -ILCA and USLCA. She is active in NYLCA and The Connecticut Breastfeeding Coalition. She is on the board of the International Consortium of Ankylofrenula Professionals. She has published and spoken internationally on a number of topics ranging from the use of nipple shield to the question of tongue tie being a “fad” Her focus when working with a family is to provide research-based information so that they can make an informed decision for themselves and their family. Ms. Berg provides support and resources as they travel on the parenting journey.

I have 15 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, 9 of those years working in a Children’s hospital and 7 years as a lactation consultant. My experience includes bedside lactation support in the labor & delivery unit, postpartum unit, NICU, outpatient setting, breast-feeding support groups, Tele-health, and prenatal education. I have been an IBCLC since 2007 offering both virtual and in-home visits to families for prenatal and postnatal infant feeding and lactation support. I help parents with a wide variety of topics in lactation and infant feeding. Some include preparing for lactation and infant feeding, returning to work, pumping and flange fitting, low milk supply, oversupply, oral function, oral restrictions, difficulty latching or feeding, positioning, introducing bottles, starting solids, nighttime nursing, weaning, and more. I am a nurse midwife with over 40 yrs experience with moms and babies. It is my passion to help new families in their parenting journey. As a birth + postpartum doula, childbirth educator, infant-feeding + lactation specialist, and IBCLC in training, Andreina has served the growing families of Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey since 2014. Her passion for birth work, expectant families, and newborns has been prevalent since she was a child- watching television series like TLC’s A Baby Story, which chronicled different birthing experiences throughout the United States. It was this initial peek into the sphere of birth in America that made Andreina aware of the disconnection that society had to an event so preternatural and fundamentally inherent such as birth. In her pursuit of restoring the sense of confidence and capacity in all birthing people, Andreina trained under renowned DONA International Doula trainer Rina Rios, and was subsequently selected to join the year-long Manhattan Birth training and mentorship program, led by doula turned home birth midwife, Tanya Wills CNM. Learning under these knowledgeable and influential women, Andreina gained invaluable knowledge that complemented her natural passion and innate skills in supporting expecting and newly postpartum individuals. Such skills and passion were further honed during Andreina’s own 72 hour home birth experience where she and her husband welcomed their son in 2022. With a bachelor of science from Iona University and five years of experience as a skilled pediatric phlebotomist, Andreina’s approach to childbirth, lactation, and postpartum melds the best of western medicine with the best of tried and true holistic care for all of her clients.
