Hello!
I'm Chandra, a full spectrum doula, childbirth educator, grief support specialist, pregnancy and infant loss advocate, and fierce maternal and infant health champion. I believe birth work is activism and that EVERY birthing person deserves care, choice, and justice! I am a Wife, Triple Negative Breast Cancer Survivor, and extremely passionate about serving the community by reimagining how doula services are offered to marginalized communities. When not working as a doula, you can find me serving as the executive director of a community-based doula program, teaching private and group workshops as a childbirth educator, and supporting families during pregnancy and infant loss.

Chandra is absolutely amazing! This is our first pregnancy and she has helped my partner and I so much. She has provided the best support, education, guidance, encouragement, knowledge, and so much more throughout our pregnancy. We are so thankful she is our Doula and are so thankful for all of her expertise, knowledge, care and support. We are so thankful she will be continuing to support us through the rest of the pregnancy and birth! We couldn’t imagine doing this without her!

Having the support and love from Chandra Lewis was one of the greatest things that got me through my first pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Her expertise, professionalism, kindness, knowledge, availability, and ability to connect with myself and my husband made me feel so confident and empowered. Chandra met with us in person and virtually day or night, and extended herself to be available to attend Doctors appointments as well. She taught us meaningful courses on pregnancy, labor/delivery, and even how to care for our now 3 month old. Not to mention, our baby was born on Chandra’s birthday! The fact that she was there for us on her birthday made me appreciate her so much more. Chandra respected and supported everything we discussed with my birth plan (even when it changed), and helped us learn so much. She advocated for me and made her presence known in the delivery room. There was a moment during my labor where everyone was screaming about seeing my baby’s head. I started balling hysterically, BUT Chandra was there telling me that everything was okay and reminded me to breathe. I was able to calm down and push my baby out smoothly afterwards. Wooh! I get teary eyed just thinking of how amazing she was and IS. I don’t think I would’ve made it through any of this without her. I would give more stars if I could. Love love love Chanda. 10/10 recommend and would DEFINITELY use her services again.

Frequently asked questions
Will a Doula Help Me Give Birth the Way I Want?
When you use Reimagining Full Spectrum Doula Services, you can be assured that you will get the finest service possible without being judged. We believe in giving objective, evidence-based assistance. We support all types of births, from pelvic to surgical and all in between, whether you want to give birth in a hospital or are assisted at home by a Midwife.
When Should I Hire a Doula?
The earlier you start, the better. The beginning of your third trimester is usually a good time to book your doula. We frequently advise starting your search in your second trimester, and talking to and interviewing a few doulas to see who is the greatest fit for you. You deserve someone with whom you can easily connect and who matches your personality and needs.
Will a Doula also Support my Partner or Spouse?
Many people believe that a doula replaces the partner or spouse, but we don't; we actually help them as well! We are firm believers that our responsibility as your doula is to magnify support for you and your partner or spouse. We've dealt with a variety of birthing partners, and one thing they all have in common is that they understand you better than anybody else. Even if they are unsure how to assist you throughout labor and delivery, they are aware of your anxieties, preferences, and aspirations. We support your partner or spouse by encouraging them, providing direction and recommendations as required, reminding them to remain hydrated, take breaks, and more.
Do I Need a Doula?
There is no "Need"! Having doula support is a personal choice. Is it possible to give birth without a doula? Absolutely. However, a person may require the services of a doula just because, or due to anxiety, a lack of other support, or many other factors. You have complete control over your birth!
Does Insurance Cover Doula Services?
That is subject to your individual insurance provider, so I cannot give you a definitive answer. I have heard of people being covered by their HSA/FSA, but the best way to get an answer is to get in touch with your insurance company.
