Hi, I am an exclusively breastfeeding mother looking for a IBCLC to help me assess some latching issues I've been having with my newborn. He is almost 3 weeks old and has been feeding well enough to be gaining weight consistently. The latch is not terribly damaging to my nipples but it's also not comfortable enough to make it through his recent growth spurt without raising some concern for me. I cannot tell if there's something I can do better to get a deeper latch or if he's just small and needs to grow a bigger mouth?? Or does he have a tongue tie? Does he need bodywork? Ideally I'd like to find someone who provides service under Medi-cal coverage with Molina Healthcare. Otherwise I have a budget of $200 for fully investigating this issue. |

Location: Torrance, CA 90504, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: June 05, 2024
My baby is almost 5 months old. He is currently exclusively breastfed, when he was around 2 months I introduced a bottle I believe 2 times. He fed well. Now as I’m transitioning into going back to work he has refused to take any bottle. We’ve tried 6-7 different types. Slow introduction, separation from me, warming nipple, warming milk, changing nipple flow/size nothing has worked. He begins to get frustrated and I don’t want to create an aversion but it really has been difficult finding a solution. |
