Hi there! I’m Brittany Shepherd, and I’m a Birth Doula serving Columbia, SC and the surround areas. As a follower of Christ, I believe it’s a privilege to live my life as an outpouring of the immense love Christ has so freely given to each one of us. As a doula, I want each mom I have the honor to come alongside, to know that I am with you, and I am for you at each step of your journey!

I meet with you in person 2 times before your labor for prenatal visits to discuss specifics about your birth, birth plan/preferences, comfort techniques, any resources needed, etc., I’m available 24/7 throughout your pregnancy through phone/email/text for any questions, support and resources, and I’m with you throughout your labor and birth, and up to 2 hours after birth to help you get settled. I go on call 2 weeks before your estimated due date, and I provide 4 hours of postpartum support for continued care once you’re home. My doula services are $700.00 (paid as a deposit and then the remaining balance).
Im so beyond thankful that I had my sweet sister by my side while I delivered my sweet baby boy! She was so comforting and reassuring, making sure I was comfortable and making sure I was breathing as I should, she was even helping me push holding my head and back. I honestly couldn't have done it without her, and I mean that wholeheartedly. She never left my side , and never let me feel like I was alone. There's no one else I would've rather had by my side!

Brittany with Dwelling tide 100% deserves a look into if you’re looking for support! I recently gave birth at the beginning of the month. We talked to a handful of doulas and I finally found one. I was NERVOUS to say the least after past birth experiences. We sat down in person and talked for over an hour and after I laughed at how nervous I was. My births have not been easy but this girl answered so many questions and always in a timely manner with source of information I could read through to. Our prenatal appointment was great and we covered a lot of information as well. Jumping to birth, i was supposed to have a vbac that my provider fully supported as well. It was changed last minute (like within hours and I was in the hospital) due to the cut that was made inside during my last c-section. I walked into l&D where they started getting me ready. I was in shock and trying to process. I called her as soon as things settled down for a few minutes. She literally had no idea till that moment and was technically not even on her oncall weeks. After telling the situation the first thing she said is “would you like me there?” I hesitated because of how last minute and out of the blue it was. When I got out of my c-section there she was! She was there till we got settled in a room and made sure we were ok. After birth she kept up with how we were doing and feeling but it was not overwhelming like some family can be. She was so respectful with it! We scheduled my first post partum visit 3 weeks after birth since we had a crazy schedule. She came and sat with baby while I could focus on my other kiddos 100% which was much needed. Here’s where she went above and beyond, I’m hard headed… to put it lightly. I was having pains in my arms and in my left leg. They were getting worse throughout the day and she could tell. We talked about it and with my history of blood clots she basically said I was going to get seen. After talking she realized the only reason I was putting it off was because I did not want to inconvenience any of the family that had already helped out. She simply said “so how can I help you?” She ended up sitting with me at the ER so that I could still have baby with me (a huge anxiety for me was leaving baby for so long). She helped me stick up for some of the decisions I wanted while getting admitted. Overall her call and her help was greatly needed because I had 6 clots. Without her paying attention to my feelings, hard headedness and situation things could have gotten way worse. Please if you’re looking for a doula give her your time for at least a meet and great. She’s the sweetest and most caring! I’ve also seen a lot of people looking for a Christian base doula, and she’s your girl. Don’t let that scare you away either because she is very respectful to different views!
