Her advanced training and certifications include When Survivors Give Birth, Rebozo Use in Labor, Postpartum Belly Binding Professional, Systemic Racism & Implicit Bias in Perinatal Health, and Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness. Briana received her BS in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where her passion for maternal and reproductive health sparked. She went on to receive her MPH from East Carolina University. She has experience supporting couples, single parents, advanced maternal age, VBAC/VBA2C, sexual trauma and assault survivors, high and low risk births, cesarean births, and families who have experienced or are expecting a loss. Briana has extensive experience working as a doula and an educator in all of our local area hospitals, birth centers, and in home. She is passionate about providing evidence based, unbiased education and helping her clients to make their own informed decisions. Briana's open, direct, and honest communication style paired with her empathic, compassionate personality allows her to be the best advocate and support for families before, during, and after birth. Briana currently lives in Eastern Wake County (though she'll always be a northerner at heart!) She loves the beach, but also loves snuggling up in a blanket with hot chocolate in a log cabin in the winter time (ah, there's her New Englander side!)

Briana offers both virtual and in-person birth and postpartum doula services. She is also an IBCLC.
Briana is such an incredible doula! She is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, warm, and makes you feel supported and cared for every step of the way. I cannot recommend her highly enough! She helped us during pregnancy and beyond with both of our children and I'm forever grateful. I wish everyone could have a Briana in this special time in their lives!

Briana was an excellent resource to help us prepare for the potential of a Cesarean birth. She was respectful, understanding, addressed all our questions, and provided additional resources for us. I will definitely recommend her to anyone I know preparing for a Cesarean (or birth in general).

I worked with Briana to hire a postpartum doula after the birth of our second child to help with nights. She was very easy to coordinate with, answered all of my questions up front, and it was a snap to complete the hiring process. We didn't ultimately work with her as our doula, but we had a fabulous experience with her colleague Radiance. I've already recommended Briana and Beyond Birth to a friend!

I had Briana as a birth doula and placenta encapsulator. She offered continuous support, education, and advocated for me throughout the process. Having a doula was something I wouldn't trade for the world, and Briana was a godsend.

Briana was my postpartum doula and all I can say is I’m sad we didn’t hire her for birth because she is MORE than wonderful. The reassurance she provided me was all I needed to get through the first few months of parenting.

I had a pretty traumatic first birth and I knew I needed additional support the second time around. I was afraid of too much change and really wanted to stay at the same hospital, but was afraid of my current providers. Briana supported me emotionally through a provider switch and reminded me that the most important part of my birth was my team and how comfortable I felt. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without her advocacy and support.
