Over 10 years ago, I answered the call to be with women in the childbearing year. Becoming a doula was my 1st baby step on this most rewarding journey! I advanced through nursing school and gained critical medical knowledge and insight working within the industrial-medical-pharmaceutical-complex, all the while retaining my grounding in the natural power of beautifully supported women. I started attending homebirths as the primary assistant to the midwife in 2014. Between home, hospital, and free-standing birth center settings, I have been honored to attend around 300-400 births as a nurse so far. In my journey, I have worked closely with midwives, learning the art of breastfeeding and participating in passing along this skill from woman to woman, even in the case of serious difficulty.
