Hi there! I am Amie Ivy - Birth & Postpartum Doula. My journey into birth work started with the birth of my first son in 2012. I was fortunate to have been surrounded by amazing, supportive women from my own family to the Midwife, Doula, and Chiropractor that I chose. Even though I had to make some shifts in my birth plan, I felt confident in my birth experience because of the love and care they showed me. I have always had a desire to serve and support women. It is an honor to have the opportunity to empower and support them through their pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey.

My goal as your Doula is to help you be as relaxed and as comfortable as possible regardless of how you choose to give birth. There are a variety of hands-on techniques that can help ease the natural pains associated with labor. From providing firm hip squeezes, gentle massage and counter pressure to making sure you stay hydrated, keep cool and move around during labor, I will work with you and your partner to continually provide the comfort that you desire as you work hard to bring your baby into this world. When the emotions are high and especially when they are low, you will need someone in your corner who absolutely believes in you and your body’s ability to birth! You will need someone to hold space for you, to guard the atmosphere of the room and to offer positive affirmation when you need it the most. When you feel overwhelmed, I am here to remind you of your inner strength. As your Doula, I am here to provide genuine, unconditional care and encouragement to both you and your partner from pregnancy through postpartum. Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum are easily overwhelming. While there is so much to learn, I trust that you pretty much know how you would like to birth your baby and I am here for it! I will empower you to act on the knowledge you have received and I will act as a bridge to the knowledge you seek. When you need additional support, I can help connect you with other birth and postpartum professionals in the community such as a child birth educator, chiropractor, pelvic floor therapist, birth photographer, lactation consultant, therapist and more.
