About me

I was blessed to attend my first birth at 18 and loved being a support for my friend. At that time in life, I didn’t know what a doula was or even that this was a career. After that experience, I was blessed to attend several births including c-sections, and have helped several people with lactation right after birth. No matter what stage of pregnancy, I am a safe space for you. From 2018-2023 I had the opportunity to nurture and love babies from 0 to 24m in foster care. I brought several babies home from the hospital and was blessed to help them through their first few months, showing them what it means to be heard, supported, and loved. I am passionate about supporting families during the pre and post-birth processes, regardless of the outcome. I feel called to this line of work and am excited to connect with you. I am excited to serve be serving, Wake, Johnston, & Wayne County with education and support during one of the biggest experiences of your life.

We were so grateful to have Amanda with us to prepare us for our delivery day and for our postpartum journey when welcoming our first child into the world. Prior to delivery, Amanda did a virtual consultation with us where she helped us create our birthing plan, answer questions and prepare our hearts & minds for delivery. After the arrival of our son Amanda came within the first 24 hours of being home to assist me with my breastfeeding journey as our little guy was having trouble latching she was tremendously helpful with this as well as supporting my mental health through trying to learn to breastfeed. Amanda was available to us 24/7 via text for any questions and would respond promptly with very helpful and encouraging input! Amanda also came twice within the first two weeks postpartum & stayed with us through the night so my husband and I could get a good night’s sleep, she cared for our newborn son and would come gently wake me when he was ready for his feedings. My husband and I struggled the 1st couple weeks of parenthood and adjusting to our new normal and her support, encouragement, and willingness to come overnight helped us survive those very difficult yet joyous first few weeks as parents. When we were ready to be released from her care she would still check in with us every now and then. Amanda was not only knowledgeable about pre and postpartum information & breastfeeding, caring, soft, and nurturing to our son but also to me, my postpartum mental health, our marriage, and our home. She cares for the entire well-being of your family and will go above and beyond to support you and your family in your journey pre- and postpartum. I couldn’t recommend Amanda more. I struggle to even put into words the impact she made on our journey of becoming parents. I hope you allow her to make that same impact on your journey & trust me when I say you won’t regret it.

Amanda was the most supportive during L&D, she helped out with exercises and emotionally kept me going. Could not have imagined my birth story without her. I had a long labor experience, and Amanda was by my side throughout the hospital. She kept talking through the options available as we were induced and waiting for dilation. She walked us through the benefits of each manual intervention as well as the risks associated with each step. during the pushing phase, she was a great coach to keep me going until the baby was out. We felt more supported during the prenatal as well as postnatal phases, as she spoke about common issues new parents go through. I could not recommend her enough.

She helped on so many levels from understanding, educating, keeping cal, coaching, analyzing and so much more. She took a potentially traumatic situation and made it beautiful. She was also supportive during the postpartum period and helped me walk through a week in the NICU with my son. She made sure to be there the day I brought him home to help us settle in.

I couldn’t have done this without a doula. Amanda was amazing in helping me understand all my options with prenatal visits and was so prompt in replying back to us with the questions we had. Throughout the pregnancy. Having her in the labor room was so helpful with all the pain management techniques she had. We tried several different positions to help bring the baby down the birth canal. She helped fill the bathtub for pain relief multiple times, worked with and helped my husband to support me during contractions, and stayed up all night during my labor to make sure the baby and I were ok. Massaged me during a few painful contractions, made sure I was well hydrated, and ate during labor. I’m really grateful for having Amanda be a part of my support team for one of the most difficult but beautiful experiences of my life.

Amanda was so great to work with before during and after the birth experience. She helped me reach all my goals of avoiding another induction and having a natural, unmedicated birth through daily exercises and natural remedies beforehand. She is a great coach and helped me get into the various birthing positions I wanted during labor. She made sure my husband was part of the birth in all the ways he wanted to be and helped ensure the baby had a the care we were seeking. She was also an excellent resource as we navigated some post-birth issues and had referrals for holistic practitioners.
