I understand what it feels like to have doubts and not have the right tools to face the unknown. This is why I started Finding Your Village and began interviewing experts in my podcast, whose service and advice can be great additions to a parent's village. Inspired by my own two birth experiences, one with pain medication and one without, I trained to become a Birthing From Within Mentor to guide parents to prepare for the challenges and victories they will encounter with their birth experience. I am committed to helping you become a birth warrior and be equipped for your birth and postpartum journey, so you can stop feeling stuck in the fear of the unknown and avoid suffering during birth and postpartum.

In addition to informing you about the physiological aspects of birth the Finding Your Village birth preparation classes will help you: cope with pain, face the unknown and find your parenting village. This birth class will equip you with tools you can use to cope with pain. The class will also give you the opportunity to “Play around in the sand box of the unknown” so, that you can notice what you do when you don’t know what to do. By the end of class you will not only be prepared for birth, but you will also create a parenting village of friends, family, internal resources and experts that provide services or information.
On my third pregnancy, I finally knew enough about pregnancy and labor to know I didn't really know much at all! I finally decided it was time to actually prepare for labor this time around and along came Amanda. Amanda guided my husband and I through our most recent pregnancy & taught us so much. I knew I wanted a natural delivery and she supported that desire and gave me tips and tricks to accomplish it (also gave my husband helpful tips that was such a game changer in the delivery room). Well, 8 weeks ago we had our 3rd child and I was able to deliver him natually and have the birth I was hoping for. I wish I would have realized how invaluable it is to prepare for such a momentous moment sooner. Thank you, Amanda! You were the missing piece I did not know I needed for a confident and empowered birth.
