Hi! My name is Alexa, I am a Holland native, I am a birth doula, and I would love to be apart of your birth team. I have a background in History, and graduated from Hope College. While at school I had the opportunity to learn about all the ways in which women have given to this world through our bodies. We are truly incredible! I also learned the sobering reality that so many women are systematically disempowered during pregnancy and birth. My greatest desire is to be apart of the solution to change that! I don't want a single woman laboring alone or in fear. I am here to help you help yourself. I approach doula work with the belief that women should be cared for throughout their pregnancy, including after your birth. Continuity of care insures none of your experiences fall through the cracks. I do through 24/7 accessibility to my clients up to 4 weeks after birth, should you have questions and concerns. This also includes, one, two hour visit, to go over your birth and to discuss all the highs and lows. Your experience of pregnancy and birth shouldn't end when you meet you baby, so neither should your care! ​ I am a DONA trained doula as well as a birth assistant and student midwife. My birth doula services include 2, 1 hour prenatal meetings for talk about all things birth prep and concerns you may have. I will also be available to you for the duration of your pregnancy with any questions or concerns that come up. Beginning at 37 weeks I will be on call for you 24/7. My service also includes a 1 hour postnatal meeting to chat about your birth.
