When we found out we were pregnant I was on a mission to have the best labor and delivery experience possible. That’s where the wonderfully talented Aja Gribble changed my life and made my dream a reality. Aja from the start was an amazing advocate for my needs and wants. We met up with my husband and spent the next hour and a half figuring out what exactly we wanted out of this experience. As a first time mom, my concern was going with a naturalistic approach at a birth center and having an unmedicated birth while maintaining a positive experience. Aja helped me find that and did her best to advise me on what my birth plan would look like if we were to incorporate all of my wishes into something doable. We also created a backup plan if the situation arose where we had to do a hospital birth. I felt so well taken care of and heard while preparing for my baby’s birth. Another strong suit of Aja’s is her vast knowledge of labor and being a mom in general. She was sending me tips left and right according to my wants and needs. When it came down to getting baby ready, she provided a list of exercises to get my daughter in position. I was laboring at home for the majority of my labor and Aja along with my husband, of course, got me through it. She showed my husband different ways he could support me with every contraction and I do believe it’s what got me to be dilated at an 8 by the time we arrived at the birthing center. She stood by my side for the duration of my labor and delivery and was nothing but positive and encouraging not only to me but my husband. Needless to say I am so happy with having hired Aja as a doula because her guiding me through this process made a world of a difference. Thank you Aja for being wonderful and being a part of our journey and making it that much better. We couldn't have done it without you.
